Sri Vighnarajam Bhaje, Oothukkadu Venkatasubbaiyer's 18th century Carnatic music kriti, in a new age mix. This Indian classical music piece in raga Ghambira Natai, Kanda Chapu talam, is based on the Mallari form that is played when a temple idol is taken on a procession, making it a part of religious devotional songs. This classical Carnatic Kriti that sings the glory of Lord Ganesha is arranged as a Carnatic Western fusion that retains the attractive Mallari lilt. It molds in a beautiful blend of western and Indian instruments as accompaniments for the vocals, the base track upon which the vocalists perform the kriti.
The song starts with an orchestral introduction followed by the vocalists singing, beginning the song with the Anupallavi; two Bharatanatyam dancers offer salutations to the elephant faced son of Shankar. The singers move on to the Charanam with short instrumental interludes in between, before coming back to the Pallavi to reach a crescendo and then the final finish. Musicians Shraddha Mohan, Aravind Sundar (Vocals), Poornima Krishna Emani (Flute) Vignesh Srinivasan (Mridangam), Mahesh Raghvan (Music Production) come together with dancers Aparna Satheesan and Navya Maitri Konda (Bharatanatyam) to create and present this festival music piece.
