December 2023 Newsletter: The What and the Why
I mention it toward the end of this video, but this will be the last essay I write specifically for my monthly newsletter. I decided over the past couple of weeks that I really want to invest more effort into building Tahoe Trail Guide, publishing more YouTube videos, and creating more artwork.
I've enjoyed writing these essays (once per month for the past six years), and I've received nice feedback about them. However, I've just missed making how-to type articles and videos, as well as actual stories. For example, I have a bunch of trail-related stories that are just notes in Word docs sitting in a folder on my computer. And I want to develop and write them!
Anyway, I really appreciate everyone's support and feedback for these essays. And, like I mention in this video, I'll still publish a monthly newsletter but it'll feature Tahoe Trail Guide articles (and all of my other work) rather than a specific/unique essay. Also, everything that I produce moving forward will still be in my own voice, but it'll just have a slightly different focus.

Lastly, I've produced my collection of articles and videos for Tahoe Trail Guide about backcountry travel and exploration with the beginner and intermediate adventurer in mind. This is the demographic for whom I most often served while working in the Lake Tahoe outdoor recreation industry. In essence, these informational projects I create and publish are extensions of the many conversations we've had over the years.
