April is a very special month for this old reporter. I first arrived in Vietnam in April 1970 and saw my first combat. I joined NBC News in Saigon in April 1971. Covered the North Vietnamese offensive at Easter - April 1972. Reported on the last days of the American backed regime in Cambodia until April 12th 1975 and covered the fall of Saigon on April 30th 1975. I then returned to Vietnam and Cambodia in April 1979.
