This memoir of war, love, and survival in Cambodia and Vietnam in the 1970's in many ways is a tribute to a remarkable woman - Soc Sinan. More than that it is a remembrance of a cruel unnecessary war and the genocidal regime it produced, in the hopes other peoples in the 21st Century can avoid the fate of so many Khmer people.
