🚆 Cab ride on the Toggenburgerbahn (Switzerland | Thurbo S9 Wattwil - Wil)

Today we find ourselves in a place where we have never been before in our cabrides: We're aboard a Thurbo GTW (GelenkTriebWagen, articulated EMU made by Stadler) in Wattwil and ready to depart with the S9 service. Our route today takes us through the famous rural Toggenburg region in eastern Switzerland, with many stretches of single track and a lot of landscape to see. All stops and most of the route are in the Canton of St. Gallen, but for a very short time, just before reaching Wil SG, we enter the Canton of Thurgau and leave it again after just about 50 seconds.

Thurbo is a private railway company and subsidiary of the federal railways SBB, which operates regional lines in eastern and northeastern Switzerland. It operates independently and plays an important role in railway traffic in the regions served.
