The journey to Sheffield's 'Megatron'

In this video we take a journey to Sheffield in the UK. We are going to look at a fantastic storm drain that is locally known as Megatron. We initially follow the Porterbrook to its confluence with the River Sheaf the very river that gave Sheffield its name. This confluence is found under the main Sheffield Midland Railway station. We follow the river Sheaf until it gets to the mighty Megatron chamber. A huge underground chamber that is a brick built victorian arch designed to carry trams across the river sheaf above ground back in the late 19th century Victorian times. Megatron is a victorian storm drain designed to carry the flood waters of the River Sheaf and the Porterbrook safely out underground Sheffield to the River Don. Lots of walking in old Victorian river culverts in waders. This is an underground urbex in Victorian brick built river culverts hidden underground in the city of Sheffield UK
