Lady Louise Alice Elizabeth Mountbatten–Windsor, who is currently 16th in line to the throne, is expected to make a life–changing decision on her future within the royal family in time for her 18th birthday in November. When her parents Prince Edward and Sophie got married in 1999, it was decided their children would not be known as prince or princess. However, The Telegraph has reported the last decision on whether Louise will take the title of princess will be left up to Louise when she becomes 18 on November 8. Her parents Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex are reported to have left the decision for Louise to make. Speaking in the wake of the BBC documentary on Prince Philip, Royal expert Phil Dampier said Louise could become the royal family’s 'secret weapon.’ He said: "Because she’s the granddaughter of the Queen, Lady Louise can call herself a princess when she becomes 18.. and there’s a strong argument for her doing it. “She seems to be very mature for her age, and she’s shaping up to be precisely the kind of person the Queen can rely on in the future. “Could there be a role for her in a slimmed–down monarchy? The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh had 1,500 patronages between them. “You have to ask yourself who is going to continue their legacy, what with Harry and Meghan and Prince Andrew off the scene? There’s a huge workload there.” If she decides to have the new title she will be known as Her Royal Highness Princess Louise. However, not all of the Queen’s grandchildren hold HRH status. Both of Princess Anne’s children Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall do not have HRH status. Lady Louise was recently praised for her involvement in the documentary on BBC One to commemorate the life of the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, who tragically passed away just a few months before his 100th birthday on April 9. The Daily Mail's royal editor Rebecca English wrote on Twitter: "I thought she came across as a beautifully assured, genuine and eloquent young woman. One to watch!" During the hour–long documentary, Prince Philip: The Royal Family Remembers, Lady Louise spoke about her love for carriage driving and how she was able to gain knowledge from her late grandfather. She said: "The Duke of Edinburgh has been so involved in my driving which has been so lovely, although slightly scary because he invented the sport pretty much. "It's incredible to have learned first–hand from him." Lady Louise Windsor lives at Bagshot Park with her parents Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex and her brother James Viscount Severn.
