This is just an excerpt from a video I'll post this Saturday at 4.30 pm, featuring my organ transcription of George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue.
The idea of adapting the famous Rhapsody in Blue to the infinite possibilities of the organ was born as a tribute to New York City, a place that I have visited many times for work and which has always struck me strongly with its uniqueness!
The undisputed artistic flair of George Gershwin, also known for his extraordinary ability to act as a crossover between highbrow music and jazz, suites extremely well to the organ, which can even more reach out towards people, without skimp on message quality, indeed!
The organ has the heart of the person who plays it and the limits are those of the imagination!
A kind memory to the excellent sound engineer, Bernard Neveu, who was the owner of the BNL-Syrius record label, to which this engraving belongs, and a special thanks to my colleague and friend Felix Gubser, for kindly approving that this recording could take place at the Späth organ located in the Church of St. Peter and Paul in Zurich, Switzerland.
