Why Did Someone Smash This Little Zinkie Lamb?

While exploring a cemetery just outside of Cincinnati OH we came across this little damaged zinkie which appears to be a lamb that has literally been decimated. It looks like someone hit it with a hammer or a car or something I've never seen this much damage on a such a small zinkie marker.
