SCHOOL DURING A PANDEMIC | back to school vlog 2020

Back to school season is approaching.. for every country now. Because of this pandemic, schools all over the world are opening up at different times. My school opened back up for year 11 & 12 students in May, but last month we returned to online school. As unfortunate as that is, I'm still extremely grateful for the time that we did get to spend at school. This year I think many people (including myself) have discovered their appreciation for school and education "you don't know what you have until it's gone". In this video, I take you along with me on a few days in my life as a high school student and explain the precautions that my school is taking to keep us all safe. This was also the day that face masks became mandatory in Melbourne, we really did struggle at the beginning.. but now after a few weeks of that in place, It definitely does feel like a normal thing.

Being a student this year, regardless of what year level you are in, is challenging. For many - No formals, no swimming and athletics carnivals, no parties (especially 18ths), no cross country etc.. but hopefully we can get through this soon, and as long as we stay hopeful and play our part, we will get to celebrate at the end of this. Remember to take care of yourself, your mental wellbeing and check up on your friends, even the most optimistic people may be feeling down right now - well.. of course, we're living through a global pandemic.
But truly, if this teaches us one thing, it's to find the positives within the negatives - you just have to, it's extremely damaging to be thinking negatively all of the time, especially because we don't know how long this is going to go for, so for every 'bad thing' that happens to you, take it as a lesson and grow from it :) I know it's easier said than done but take it one step at a time, learn to rewire your thinking - it changed my life. I love you all so much. Stay safe, stay well ❤️

Since I'm studying from home for the next few weeks because of stage 4 restrictions where I live in Victoria, I'll make sure to film some productive online school day in the life vlogs! I know you love those! And when school is back on, you'll be getting heaps of back to school vlogs!! They're extremely time-consuming to produce but It's worth it and it'll be nice to look over in a few years time! Also, keep an eye out because I'll be having a back to school haul + giveaway video soon YAY!!

I understand that it may come as a shock to some of you who live in different countries but in Australia, they’ve come up with other strategies to deal with the virus in schools and ensure that if it does happen, there’s a plan to follow. If your school requires you to social distance, you should absolutely do your best to do so. Every country, state and territory is using a unique strategy so just follow what yours says ❤️ stay safe and well my loves xx
