Special Puto Pao Recipe

Puto Pao is a popular Filipino Delicacy which is a combination of Puto (Steamed Rice Cake) and Siopao (Steamed Pork Bun). Filled with Asado Filling which is sweetened pork, it's savory but sweet at the same time, very delicious.

INGREDIENTS

Puto Batter
1 ½ cups All-Purpose Flour
1 ½ tsp Baking Powder
½ cup White Sugar
¾ cup Milk
-- Extra Water

For Meringue
4 Egg Whites
¼ cup White Sugar

Toppings
Salted Egg
Cheese

Asado Filling
350 gm Ground Pork
¼ cup Brown Sugar (Add more for sweeter Asado)
3 tablespoon Soy Sauce
2 tablespoon Oyster Sauce
2 pcs Bayleaf
2 pcs Star Anis
1 Small Onion (Diced)
3 cloves Garlic (Minced)
1 tablespoon Cornstarch, dissolved in 1 tbsp water
1 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
-- Pinch of Salt
½ cup Water
