Dysmenorrhea is a very common condition it affects young girls adolescence and the youth. It is severe pain that one experiences during periods. Dysmenorrhea is generally considered to be of two types. One is the congestive Dysmenorrhea which tends to start before the onset of the periods and once the flow tends to start off and becomes much less. The other is a spasmodic Dysmenorrhea which starts with the flow of the periods and it tends to really peak on the first and the second day and then it tends to subside . Sometimes we say that Dysmenorrhea may be primary or secondary. Primary is in a young girl who started menstruation and at whom we do not find any particular cause and secondary when it is because of some problem within the uterus that one has the Dysmenorrhea. That is because if she has got fibroids or in case she has much adenomyosis, endometriosis if these lead on to pain during periods it is referred to as secondary Dysmenorrhea. As far as the symptoms of Dysmenorrhea is concern it tends to vary from girl to girl. Some I would say more than 40 to 50% do have pain during the periods but they're able to still continue with the normal life, go to school college or even work. But some girls have it so serious that they need to take it off from the school or maybe from the work. The pain is very severe spasmodic sometimes it is so severe that girls have a fainting sensation. They may have a lot of vomiting that tends to take. Some girls feel the urge to go to pass stools again and care these particular symptoms when so severe need urgent treatment.
