Kansas City Day Three: American Jazz Museum, College Basketball Hall of Fame, and Union Station

We spent the last day in Kansas City catching up on attractions that we didn't get the chance to see during the trip. The American Jazz Museum was a great way to start off the day, they had an extensive collection of items from Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, and Ella Fitzgerald just to name a few. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take any video or pictures in the Negro Leagues Museum.

The Airline History and TWA museums were not my choices for the day, they were my dad's, so I just went along with it. They seemed interesting enough to film and I learned a few things about the now-defunct airline TWA.

My favorite experience of the day was the College Basketball Hall of Fame. It was by far the most interactive sports museum I have been to, although the Sports Hall of Fame in Portsmouth was pretty cool when I was younger. The best part was we were the only ones there and got to try out all of the stations for as long as we wanted. It was the perfect way to experience the museum.

We ended the day at Union Station, a huge train station that has attractions of its own. In the building, there was a science museum, escape rooms, IMAX theater, miniature train exhibit and a Museum of Illusions. We chose the Museum of Illusions, mostly because it was one of the last things still open for the day and I would say it was worth the money although I would have liked it to have had more stuff in it.

Overall it was an interesting day and made me feel like we accomplished so much on this trip. Now it was on to Detriot for more adventures.
