SAW! | Rootstocks harvest with unique trike harvesters | Netherlands 2020

Before you can pick an apple, pear or plumb a lot of work is involved growing that tree. It all starts with a tiny rootstock grown on a stoolbed. These are use for grafting fruit trees. We show you how - during the wet winter months - these rootstocks are harvested at specialist tree growers in the Netherlands. Dutch engineering firm Andela T&I has developed a pair of unique trikes to carry out this task. Follow us into the fields and let us guide you through the harvesting process.
