N-Acetylcysteine (NAC) And COVID-19: Does This Medication Help Prevent And/Or Treat COVID-19?

In this video we will discuss a medication most often used in Tylenol overdose called N-acetylcysteine (NAC). There has been interest in this medication as a possible prophylactic or therapeutic medication to prevent or treat COVID-19. We will go over what this medication is, how it works, and why it may be efficacious for COVID-19. It's theorized efficacy is multifactorial. We will dive into each one of these potential mechanisms and discuss them. We will then see if there is any literature to date to strictly support it's use for COVID-19. Finally, we will take a look at its use as an anti-viral in the past for infectious such as Influenza. Check out the video for all the details!
