SOPHOCLES' Oedipus Rex
This episode on Sophocles' Oedipus Rex will look at the play from two directions. First will be to interpret it in the form of detective fiction but acknowledging the fact that this is a distinctive expression of the form. And second is to qualify the theme of determinism and free will that has been a standard for understanding the play and to suggest that the play is also an expression of freedom in general.
