Pumpkin Pilates Challenge - One Leg Circle
🔊 Sound on! (Slightly different tune for this one.)
Today, I chose the One Leg Circle for my Pilates with a pumpkin exercise. FYI, the video has been sped up by 40%.
First, I chose to place the pumpkin on the front of my hips. In a normal class, I would use a Toning Ball on my belly button for the same type of feedback. If you let the hips wobble, the ball or pumpkin will likely fall off.
Second, I placed the pumpkin (sideways! Right side up was too easy 😜) under my “standing” leg for a bit of instability. In a normal class, I would use a Mini Stability Ball or a Fitness Circle for that instability.
Third, I held the pumpkin above my chest to take away the help of my arms to stabilize (if you watch closely in the first two versions, you’ll see my deltoid tensing up). In non-pumpkin times, you could just hold your arms up, or you could hold your favorite Pilates prop.
Lastly, I held the pumpkin overhead. Not only did I not have my arms by my side to help me stabilize, but I had the extra challenge of keeping my ribs connected. And just like the third variation, you could hold nothing or something!
I’m having more fun than I anticipated with this Pilates with a pumpkin challenge! I hope you can tell by my cheesy takes to the camera. I felt it might be a bit too boring not seeing my 😁 since I was demonstrating a supine exercise. Now why don’t you show ME what you can do with YOUR pumpkinlates! 🎃
