Tartine Manufactory

Like walking into an art directors mind, Tartine is so beautiful it's hard to take it all in- the bread ovens are huge and turning out perfect loaves, yet the bakers are perfectly attired, not a hair out of place, clothes immaculate and not a bead of sweat. Someone created the future at the corner of 18th and Alabama and we stepped into it. The chocolate cake was like a flowerless brownie with beautifully airated creme on top. The creme caramel - is as god intended it- eggy custard w glorious light burnt sugar syrup at the bottom. The avocado toast on rye is open faced, Danish style in keeping with our last months theme. Chewy rye bread, spicey, tangy pepitas - like everything else, beautifully presented
