If you’re a fan of Spider-man, comics, animation, or just movies in general, you should absolutely head out to the theatres immediately to see Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse! It’s one of the best animated movies ever, one of the best Marvel movies ever, and just about one of the best movies ever. The creators are clearly huge fans of everything Spidey, and know their stuff! This movie could not be more packed with amazing references to everything Spiderman, pop culture, and beyond! Read ahead with caution, as there are about to be a ton of spoilers. Some of the best hidden moments in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse are those that only the biggest fans might notice. Like the fact that they throw in a ton of references to the Sam Raimi original trilogy, like the upside down kiss, the train scene, and the evil Peter Parker’s amazing dance moves. They also include the logo for the CAA, which is a reference to when comic books suffered under government censorship, and both the Spider Man popsicle and the breakfast cereal that was popular in the 90’s and part of a balanced breakfast. There is an amazing Donald Glover/Community easter egg hidden in the Morales home, and more classic Spider-Man cartoon memes than we can count. Some believe that Chris Pine is actually Ben Riley, Spider Man’s blonde clone. The post credits scene sees Oscar Isaac as Spider Man 2099, the future Spidey going back in time to encounter the 1960’s animated version, and finally, an amazing scene featuring Stan Lee pays homage to the man who started it all.
