Top 10 Most Valuable Currency In Africa 2021.

They say “CASH IS KING”, and it is certainly true in many ways on the continent of Africa. Money definitely makes the world go round.
We thought it would be fun to take a trip around our continent and look at the TOP TEN CURRENCIES used in Africa!
For comparison purposes, we are using the United States Dollar, which is the worldwide goalpost in many cases, for monetary purposes.
Please note that currency prices fluctuate, so it is always best to check for the most up-to-date exchange rates to know how much your currency is worth in another country. The site I found most useful for this is xe.com which allows you to compare every currency in the world, even bitcoin.

10. Egyptian Pounds (1 USD – 17.8 EGP)
Egypt is a famous Arab nation that has been in existance since biblical times. Located in the north part of the African continent, and well known for its civilization and home to the ancient pyramids.
The nation is Africa’s third largest economy and one of the most developed in the continent. Its capital Cairo is the second largest city in Africa. Cairo is an economic and industrial hub, bustling with various activities.
The Egyptian Pound is the official currency of Egypt. It is divided into 100 piastres, or ersh.

9. Eritrean Nafka (1 USD – 15.0 ERN)
Eritrea is an island nation in Africa, a remote country in the horn of Africa is quite small in economy, land area and population, its currency is Nafka. After parting ways with Ethiopia, it still shares the same currency with the old nation. Eritrea has a stable currency from a not too lively economy.
The nakfa is pegged to the US dollar at a fixed rate of USD 1 = ERN 15. At earlier times, it was officially pegged at USD 1 = ERN 13.50. The currency is not fully convertible, so black market rates available on the streets typically offered a rate of 15 nakfas per dollar.
8. South African Rand (1 USD – 15.23 ZAR)

It is the currency used in South Africa. Sout Africa is the most developed democratic state in the African continent, and is currently the second largest economy in Africa, trailing behind Nigeria.

South Africa has a very vibrant and competitive economy and is the only African member of the G-20 economic group. Its economy is diversified, comprising of mining (41% gold in the world and 90% platinum), automobiles assembly, textiles, agriculture, gold, fertilizer.
