In 1996, preschool children were first introduced to the computer-animated dog named Blue and her clueless friend Steve (Steve Burns), who needed the home audience’s help to find clues. Blue's Clues was an immediate hit for Nickelodeon’s preschool block Nick Jr., and after Steve left the show in 2002, Donovan Patton took over, playing Joe.
