Grace of Restoration | Genesis 12:10-20 | #Faith #Abraham #Egypt #Lies #Mistakes #Fear

✨Everyone makes mistakes, but God works through grace even in those moments.✨

Abram went down to Egypt out of fear of famine and lied for his own safety. His household was on the verge of destruction.

However, God did not abandon Abram despite his mistakes, protected him with grace, and led him back to the promised land.

In any situation, we must trust in God's promises and obey His voice.

Making choices that please God is the best way to reduce mistakes.

Even if we make mistakes, let us believe in God's grace that restores us and live a life that pleases God.

## Sermon Summary Key Points

### Content Summary
✦ A mistake is an error committed in a careless state that causes harm to others or oneself and can become a lifelong burden. Even Abraham, the father of faith, who showed greatness in his obedience to God, was a weak being who made mistakes when caught up in human thinking.
✦ When severe famine occurred in the land of Canaan, Abraham feared the realistic famine more than God's promise. Due to human anxiety, he "went down" to Egypt (meaning to deviate from the path, to worry, to fear). When 65-year-old Sarah attracted Pharaoh's attention due to her beauty, he made a chain of mistakes by lying that Sarah was his sister for his own safety.

### Abraham's and God's Attitude and Posture
✦ Although Abraham received God's promise to become a source of blessing, he showed human weakness by fearing famine, leaving the promised land of Canaan regardless of God's will, and trying to preserve his own life even at the risk of putting his wife in danger for his own safety.
✦ Despite Abraham's mistakes, God continued to care for him, actively protected him by bringing plagues upon Pharaoh and his house regarding Sarah, made Abraham realize his wrongdoing through Pharaoh, taught him the necessity of depending on God through discipline and restoration, and eventually led Abraham's household back to Canaan.

### Lessons for Us
✦ Even in difficult situations, we must remember and rely on God's promises, prioritize God's will over human anxiety and fear, pray before God daily and strive to seek and hear God's voice, and live a life that follows God's will rather than our own judgment.
✦ We must acknowledge that we are temporarily sojourning in this land and remain in God, believe in God's grace and restoration even when we make mistakes and rise again, remember that making choices that please God is the best way to reduce mistakes, and live a life that pleases God today without mistakes and without regret.
