Australia Through to the Eurovision Final!

EUROVISION GRAND FINAL
Delta has officially gotten Australia through to the Grand Final in Eurovision! This is the performance that just catapulted Australia into the last leg of the world's biggest music contest! Pop star Delta Goodrem performed an electric rendition of her song "Eclipse" in Vienna, with no shortage of pyrotechnics that's for sure. It now means we'll be joining nine other countries in the Grand Final. According to people keeping their eyes on the Eurovision odds, Delta may have just landed Australia somewhere in the top five, closing in on Finland, who are currently the favourites to win. But it's got some hoping Australia could take out top spot. And it's the winning country that normally gets to host the following year's contest, but if Australia wins, that won't be the case because according to the rules of Eurovision, the contest cannot be held in the Southern Hemisphere. Unfortunately Australia's never actually won the comp, although we did come close once back in 2016! When Dami Im's Sound of Silence snagged 2nd place. As for Delta in the Grand Final, you'll have to be up super early to watch her live. So be ready!

SAM KERR QUITS CHELSEA
Aussie soccer star Sam Kerr has said she's leaving Chelsea Football Club! After 6 years, 157 games and 115 goals, Sam Kerr took to the London club's social media to announce the end of her time career at Chelsea. During her time in blue, Sam Kerr won five Women's Super League titles, three FA Cups and three League Cups, not bad hey?

PLATYPUS CONSERVATION
Researchers in New South Wales reckon one of Australia's most iconic and unusual creatures needs more protection. They come out at as the sun goes down, ready to hunt. They use electrical impulses to find their prey. The males use sharp stingers on their back heels to deliver a venomous blow. And they have these adorable little bills and cute little webbed feet. Man, I love 'em. I just wish I could see one. Yeah, you'd be pretty lucky to spot one of these Aussie icons in the wild. Here in South Australia, platypus have been classed as endangered since the 1970s. In Victoria, they've been classed as vulnerable for the past five years. It's one reason why in New South Wales there have been calls to change the protection status of the platypus. Gilad Bino is part of a team of researchers who say the platypus population in the state needs some help. He wants the platypus to be listed as a threatened species. But for that to happen, they'll need more proof. You see, for a species to be listed as threatened, they have to show the population has declined 30 per cent or more over three generations. But as we've already established, these guys are hard to find and hard to count. While researchers work hard on collecting the data, they're asking the rest of us to help, by keeping our eyes peeled for platypuses. If you do see one, they're hoping you can let this group know where and when, and help keep this quirky little creature safe.

AI PORTRAITS
First up to Britain's national portrait gallery, where people have been snapping selfies and sending them off to be turned into AI generated portraits. It's a collaboration between a British artist and Google's AI technology, which takes all the portraits and cycles through them on this screen. But the artist behind it even admits using AI for a project like this isn't the same as sitting face to face with her subjects.

BIG DINOSAUR
And now to a very big dinosaur skeleton in Thailand, which is thought to be the biggest one ever found in South-east Asia. They've called it Nagatitan chaiyaphumensis and it's about 27 metres long, and thought to have weighed 27 tonnes. And this is what they think it might have looked like all those years ago.
