1.5 Modeling and simulation of dynamical systems (AE3B35MSD): Higher-order linear models
Video lecture for the undergraduate course on modeling and simulation of dynamical systems given within a study program "Cybernetics and Robotics" at Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic. The course website is http://moodle.fel.cvut.cz/courses/a3b... (you can switch the language of the web).
In this video we give a very brief recapitulation of the fundamental concept of a transfer function (a fraction of two univariate polynomials) as a linear model of a dynamical system. We also show that an immediate extension to systems with multiple inputs and multiple outputs is a (left) fraction of two polynomial matrices. As a matter of fact, this so-called polynomial matrix approach to linear systems has a very deep rooting in Prague because some of your teachers at Czech Technical University (Vladimír Kučera, Michael Šebek and Didier Henrion) have contributed significantly to its development.
