Pseudoscope Kit

The Pseudoscope is an intriguing optical device. As well as expanding the apparent distance between the eyes by a factor of 3, the Pseudoscope also switches the input to the eyes, so the left eye becomes the right, and vice versa. This makes space reverse, so that distant objects appear closer, objects which cast shadows appear behind and not in front of the shadow. In this sense, pseudoscopic vision fights normal vision. The scientist Wheatstone said that 'with a Pseudoscope we have a glance, as it were, into another visible world, in which external objects and our internal perceptions have no longer their habitual relation to each other.'
