Mercedes W210 E320 A/C Receiver Drier DIY

This video shows how to replace your Mercedes A/C Receiver/Drier.

You will need to have your A/C system completely evacuated of the old Freon and have the Freon professionally recovered. The new R-134a is not as bad for the environment. However, you must make sure you comply with your region's environmental laws.

I used the Hansa model but the cheapest Receiver Drier as of October, 2019, is the Rein model which is much better than Rein and can be found at FCPEuro.com for $13.00:

Find the smallest amount of PAG 46 oil you can buy cheap from any Auto Parts store. You will apply this oil to the two new rubber gaskets which you will connect to the tip of each pressure line. You can buy a complete set of gaskets from autohausaz.com for $11.00 or take your old gaskets after removal to an auto parts store and only purchase two right-sized gaskets.

If you just replace the receiver drier, MB recommends you add 10 cubic centimeters or .34 ounces of PAG 46 oil to the system. Also, the torque spec for the two pressure line connectors is 17NM or 12.5 ft#.
