Wissota Ice Skate sharpener 12 DC Inverter experiments

Running unit on an inverter for mobile use ie car truck. 750 watt Inverter worked, 400 watt unit would not. Both were low cost modified sine wave units. DC input current is about 13 amps DC at idle and about double ie 20 to 30 while cutting blades. Next experiment will be with a true sine wave inverter and varying the parallel caps. Off the wall outlet by adding a 45 uF cap in parallel the power factor becomes about unity and the volt amperes drops to be about the same as the true watts the motor uses. The two Modified sine wave inverters were not happy with the added 45uF cap. The 750 watt unit did work with an added 7.5 or 10 uF cap and this made the DC input current smooth out and the AC motor sound a tad better
