Mr Kooka's Scary Adventure

That's a funny looking bat I hear you say but this is in fact, an Australian kookaburra.
After hearing a very noisy kerfuffle in our back yard I went to investigate and found our resident pair of magpies and some noisy miners attacking poor Mr Kooka.
We have a lot of shrubbery behind our aviaries and although Mr Kooka was valiantly trying to escape, he couldn't make it through all the branches.
Although I hold a permit for Species of Least Concern, I am not a bird carer so I sought the advice of a very experienced bird carer and I am following her advice to the letter.
Kooka has been in the wars and at some point in his life he lost his right eye but it's a well healed old injury and considering his good body condition, there is no reason not to send him home.
Mr Kooka is now resting in a warm humidicrib with water and meal worms in case he gets peckish and following a test fly in one of our aviaries, he will be released back into his home territory.
