The Story of Lupke La | Shimshal Pass | Part 2

After becoming the first and the only group in 2021 to cross Lupke La, our group of 6 people now had to make way through the beautiful Shimshal Pass and eventually reach the end point of this very long trek; Shimshal village

While we assumed that after crossing the Snowlake terrain, the rest of the journey would be easier, we soon realized that when you are in the mountains, you are at their mercy. The challenges never ended; from snow blindness to the treacherous and exhausting Baraldu glacier, from the river crossing to abandoning the summit push of Minglik Sar peak, this trek had everything. We were absolutely grateful, however, firstly because we were greeted by the beautiful and lush green meadows of Shimshal pass during the closing stages of our trek and secondly because every moment of difficulty is now a precious memory in our hearts; stored in a special vault forever
