8. Fr. Gratiano Urbani, OFM: Introduction to Franciscan Excavations in Magdala

Fr. Gratiano Urbani, OFM. lead Women Encounter participants through the Franciscan excavations to the south of Magdala, on Saturday morning March 5th. He highlighted the Roman square that probably became the quadriporticus of a gymnasium, four moorings from the early Roman period and others from the Hasmonean and Herodian period, a part of a well conserved road that could be part of the ancient Via Maris, and other parts of the site.
