Evolution of San Francisco Circuit in Grid (2008 - 2022) - Track History
Grid Legends has been released and it features many different race track locations, including a couple that were already a part of the first Grid game in 2008. Here you can see how the San Francisco circuit has evolved over the history of the series. I am showing a lap with a Dodge Viper in one game from each era of the franchise.
Timeline:
0:00 San Francisco Circuit in Race Driver Grid (2008) with Dodge Viper SRT-10
2:31 San Francisco Circuit in Grid Autosport (2014) with SRT Viper GTS
4:59 San Francisco Circuit in Grid Legends (2022) with Dodge Viper GTS-R
7:11 Race Driver Grid Cinematic Replay
9:06 Grid Autosport Cinematic Replay
11:09 Grid Legends Cinematic Replay
Grid Legends is the 5th game in the Grid series and there is no race track that has appeared in all 5 games but there are a few tracks that have appeared in 4 different Grid games and one of them is San Francisco, which was only missing in Grid 2. I recorded a lap in Grid 1, Grid Autosport and Grid Legends, which sort of represent the 3 eras of Grid games, so you can see how the graphics and the physics evolved over time.
Race Driver Grid was very arcade and fast, with the cars feeling pretty light. Grid Autosport feels completely different and for me personally the handling in that game feels pretty awkward. Grid Legends is more arcade and with better control again, although it still doesn't feel as fast as the first game, at least in this example.
All 3 of these games have a version of the Dodge Viper, although they are all in different classes. In Race Driver Grid the Viper can be found in the Pro Muscle class, in Grid Autosport it is a supercar and in Grid Legends we got one in the GT2 class.
Hopefully people will enjoy this little comparison. If the video ends up being popular I am happy to make more videos of this type. However, before you ask for more videos make sure to first watch the other one that I already made with the evolution of Okutama GP. Here you can find it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWlG9bVDEW4
