Poll finds almost one-fifth of Biden voters regret casting their ballot for him

A new poll finding one-fifth of voters who cast their ballots for Mr Biden last November now regret doing so, amid a difficult few weeks for the administration.

The online poll, conducted by Zogby Analytics, found 20 per cent of Biden voters now regret their choice.

In concerning news for the incumbent administration, the poll was taken before America's withdrawal from Afghanistan, which prompted bipartisan condemnation.

Pollster Jonathan Zogby said President Biden cannot afford to lose a significant chunk of his voters if he is to win the 2024 election.

“On the surface, it doesn't seem like much, especially if you look at the three-quarters of likely voters who did not regret their vote; 4% were not sure how they felt,” Mr Zogby said.

"If you take into consideration the size of the electorate, and how the last two presidential elections (2016 and 2020) were decided by tens of thousands of votes in a handful of battleground states, this could really hurt President Biden's chances in 2024.”
