HP Gen8 Microserver Series Part 4: Installing Hyper-V

In this part of the series we're installing the HyperVisor and go through all the necessary steps before installing your virtual machines.

Commands:
"diskpart" - Starts the diskpart utility
"list disk" - Lists available disks
"select disk [x]" - Selects a disk, ex: "select disk 1"
"convert gpt" - Converts the disk to GPT
"create partition primary" - Creates a partition
"format fs=ntfs quick" - Performs a quick format of the partition to filesystem NTFS
"assign letter=[X]" - Assigns a letter to the partition, ex: "assign letter=D"

"netsh advfirewall firewall set rule group="Remote Desktop" new enable=yes" - Allows RDP connections through the Windows Firewall

"Set-NetFirewallRule -DisplayGroup 'Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI)' -Enabled true" - Enable firewall rules for Hyper-V manager connection
"Set-NetFirewallRule -DisplayGroup 'Remote Event Log Management' -Enabled true" - Enable firewall rules for Hyper-V manager connection
"Set-NetFirewallRule -DisplayName "Windows Firewall Remote Management (RPC)" -Enabled True" - Enable firewall rules for Hyper-V manager connection
"Set-NetFirewallRule -DisplayName "Windows Firewall Remote Management (RPC-EPMAP)" -Enabled True" - Enable firewall rules for Hyper-V manager connection

".\notepad.exe C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts" - Open hosts-file with Notepad
"Set-Item WSMan:\localhost\Client\TrustedHosts -Value [Server Name] -Force" - Trusts the server, ex: "Set-Item WSMan:\localhost\Client\TrustedHosts -Value NE-HV01 -Force"
