PX4 Albatross UAV Auto Takeoff and Lidar Supported Landing

This is the result of several weeks development and testing by the core PX4 dev team. After numerous tests with the Bormatec Maja we switched to our target aircraft, the 3 meter wing span Albatross UAV from Applied Aeronautics.

The first flight was manual during which we only needed to do minor tuning and then we attempted our first fully autonomous takeoff, flight and landing with the Albatross. We were, as you can hear, quite pleased with the results ;)

Flights were preformed at a local regional airport in cooperation with the airport authorities and pilots operating at the time. We were in constant radio contact and flying a short circuit.

We are very grateful for the cooperation and support we received from both the airport and pilots.
