Human-Powered flight

This is Aerocycle 301, just one of the aircrat taking part in the Human-Powered Flying competition at Lasham.
Powered by pedal power, it lifts off at about 12 knots, weighs 40 kg, can take an 80 kg pilot, has no roll control and some rather unique instruments, including a pulse meter - which is just as well, given that to make it fly you have to develop 400 watts of power.
As much as a kettle.
This video shows only part of the flight, - the thing stayed aloft for a good three minutes, covering the entire length of Lasham's 1800m runway.
