Walking Chicago in Rain: Superior Street Mid-September 2023

A rainy day in mid-September 2023. It was not heavy, not light either. The sounds of the rain hitting my umbrella was audible and soothing.

My walk along Superior Street started from Franklin Street to around Lake Michigan. Compared to Chicago’s Loop, Superior Street had less skyscrapers and was quieter. But it exhibited its own beauty, especially in the rain. The beauty of simplicity and serenity, I believe.

Even in the rain, I still couldn’t help but look up at the skyscrapers along my way. I was also drawn to low historic-looking buildings. Pedestrians were sparse, with or without umbrellas.
