A Virtual Artist Conversation with Tansill Stough-Anthony

The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza presented a virtual artist conversation with Tansill Stough-Anthony, moderated by Curator Stephen Fagin. This program was recorded via Zoom on March 16, 2021.

An artist in Hot Springs, Arkansas, Stough-Anthony was in the second grade in 1963. Leading up to the 50th anniversary of the Kennedy assassination in 2013, she created a series of paintings entitled "Fading Memories: In Honor of JFK." Three of these works were displayed at the Arkansas Governor's Mansion in 2013. The series is now part of the Museum’s Collection.

About Art Reframes History:

Art Reframes History is a special installation of works of art at The Sixth Floor Museum that explores the variety of ways artists interpret history. The creative voices in this exhibit span time and geography but all share a common point of inspiration: the life and legacy of President Kennedy. Featuring visual art as well as musical composition and performance, the exhibit presents ten different artistic responses expressed in a variety of media—including photography, oil painting and screen prints, opera and musical theater, string quartet and percussion ensemble. Drawn from the Museum’s collections, the featured works serve as examples of the breadth of creativity that one historic event can inspire. The exhibition is on view September 9, 2020 – May 9, 2021.
