DAF -FPHF: Parts, main features and operation | SIGMADAF Clarifiers

DAF FPHF system for the treatment of industrial wastewater with very high flow rates and a large number of pollutants to be removed.

DAFs are based on the principle of liquid-solid separation, the process of which generates a large number of microbubbles that allow the solids to float.

The parts of SIGMA DAF equipment are:
• DAF tank or body.
• Microbubble generation system.
• Sludge collection skimmer system.
• Recirculation pump. An advantage of our equipment that produces the saturation and pressurization of air.

SIGMADAF DAFs support the unique SMARTDAF technology, which guarantees maximum efficiency throughout the life of the equipment, with two options:

• SMART DAF Basic system for control the air supply to the saturation circuit and prevent prevention of cavitation risk in the pump.
• SMART DAF Premium system. Additionally , complete automatization of the DAF process from aeration control to depressurization and chemical dosing.

How does a SIGMADAF DAF FPHF work?

1. Inside the flotation tank, the baffles make it easier for the sludge to float and in the initial zone to facilitate its extraction and the clarified water, free of flocs and solids is led to the collection zone passing through the lamella plate pack.
2. The lamella plate pack allows the system to work at very low hydraulic load. Together with the special clarifier water collectors, they reduce the water flow velocity of the water and manage to improve the separation efficiency by 90% without using large tanks.
3. The lamella stainless steel or honeycomb polyethylene package both increases the performance of the DAF unit.
4. The cantllevered skimmer system collects the floated sludge and discharges it into the sludge hopper for subsequent pumping or removal from the DAF.
5. The static sludge thickener (optional) prevents the dragging of floating water and helps to increase the concentration of the sludge concentration to 8-10% dry matter.
6. The shaftless screw allows heavy solids that settle in the bottom of the flotation tank to be removed. Small equipment or special constructions are supplied directly with one or more hoppers instead of screw extractors.
