March 2025 Expenses for Full-Time RV Couple! 💸
We have some explaining to do 😉 Here’s the breakdown of last month’s expenses as it’s a biiiiit more than typical for a few reasons ⬇️⬇️⬇️
💸 RV Payment - We’re currently overpaying to try to pay off our loan quicker!
🏕️ RV Parks - I am actually pretty proud of this one! Knowing it’s more expensive for short term campground stays & that we had almost a month of travel across the country from south Texas to northwest Oregon, I had a goal of spending no more than $1,200 on campgrounds. We were able to come in UNDER this by staging at a mix of campgrounds, @harvesthosts, and boondocking!
⚡️ This was actually for last month’s electric use + 8 days of March since that’s how our previous long term stay ran their billing cycles.
📬 We had all our mail sent to us this month, so on top of our ~$10 monthly subscription, we had to pay for it to be shipped.
⛽️ Let’s have a moment of silence for the $ spent on diesel this month… 🫠 While this number is obviously HUGE, I did budget $1,500 before we left TX by doing a little research before & guesstimating our mileage + gas prices. I’m pretty stoked that I was nearly spot on, especially for doing it for the first time! We believe we towed somewhere between 2,500-3,000 miles.
📝 The insurance amount is for 2 vehicles + the RV. This is how much we save monthly to pay a lump sum every 6 months.
So! All of this goes to show how variable expenses can be from month to month, particularly with lots of travel 🤑 Did this amount surprise you? Do you have any questions about our spending or how we budget? Drop ‘em below! 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽
Additionally, these are ONLY the expenses for RV living specifically. We did not include our groceries, eating out, subscriptions, pet care, healthcare, etc since those vary so much from family to family & can also be ‘chosen’ to an extent. What we’ve shared are the bare necessities. Again, we have only decided to post this as it’s been helpful for us to see others’, especially as we were preparing for FT RV life.. so we hope it’s helpful for some of you too! 🥰
