Eminem'in bir buluşmada Stan'in ısrarı üzerine ona; bana mektup yazarsan sana geri dönerim diye cevap veriyor. Fakat Stan defalarca mektup yazmasına rağmen cevap alamıyor. Stan'in Eminem'e olan hayranlığı bir noktada çığırından çıkıyor kendi dış görünüşünü onunkine benzetiyor, 2. mektubun sonunda 'Birlikte olmalıyız' sözünden kastı da artık sapıklık derecesine geldiğinin bir kanıtı. Şarkının uzun versiyonun klibini izlerseniz daha iyi anlarsınız. Alec şarkının sadece ilk 2 mektupluk kısmını coverlıyor. Ve sonra kendi sözleriyle devam ediyor. ( 3:07 den itibaren) Şarkı bir bakıma Alec'in Eminem'e olan hayranlığı ve kendini Stan'e benzetmesinden oluşmuş. (Benim fikrimce Stan Eminem'den çok Eminem'in diğer karakteri olan Slim Shady'e hayran)
-Stan'in kızının ismini Bonnie koymasının sebebi Eminem'in 97 Bonnie and Clyde şarkısından bir alıntı. Bonnie Shady'nin hikayelerinde geçen bir isim bu da Stan'in Shady'e hayranlığının bir göstergesi çünkü Eminem'in kızlarından herhangi birinin ismini koymuyor.
-Ronnie amca dediği kişi Ronnie Dean Polkingharn. Eminem'in kendinden sadece 2 ay büyük amcası, araları aynı yaşta olmasından dolayı çok iyiymis ve en yakın arkadaşlarmış. 1991'de intihar ederek hayatına son vermiş.
