Tesla is the leader of electric vehicles going into 2023, but they aren’t perfect. Tesla vehicles are missing a lot of amazing features that some other electric vehicles have. This is my list of features that Tesla needs to add soon.

Powered Frunk
No Tesla vehicle has a powered automatic front trunk. I think it's an obvious next step for Tesla since there are already third party power frunk kits that are very popular.

Bidirectional Charging
With bidirectional charging the vehicle battery could provide power for many different things (including house), feed energy back to power grid, provide resiliency for power outages, and reduce electricity bill.

Apple Music/CarPlay
With Apple CarPlay you can view your phone Home Screen and apps on the larger touch screen in the car and use apps natively on the car’s screen which gives you way more variety of apps that are accessible in the car.

360 Degree Birds Eye View
This would be nice when trying to park or pull out of tight spaces, especially since Tesla removed ultrasonic sensors. The 360 degree Birds Eye view feature is not hard to do, but Tesla vehicles do not have a front bumper camera.

Blindspot Lights
Even though the Tesla touchscreen does show a small alert visual when something is close to one of the sensors, it’s not very obvious or noticeable and it’s counterintuitive to look at the screen to the right if you are worried about your blindspot to the left.

Smart Sentry Mode
Tesla’s built-in video surveillance system called Sentry Mode utilizes exterior cameras to record video clips if motion is detected. It can be even better by sending mobile app alerts whenever a Sentry mode clip is triggered, plus filters when playing back the videos in your vehicle. I’d love to have the current date, time, and speed embedded on the dash cam footage.

Ventilated Seat Option
A big complaint is how hot the Model 3/Y seats get because they have no airflow. Model S/X have ventilated cooling seats, but I think all Tesla models should have this feature especially given the recent price increases.

Smart Passenger Monitoring
I’d like the vehicle to automatically detect if a passenger is still in the car either by the seat occupancy sensor or the interior cabin camera to allow the climate/touchscreen to stay on even if the driver exits the vehicle. I also want to be able to turn off the vents for either of the front seats when climate control is on.

Rain Sensing & Cruise Control
Tesla uses their neural network to detect if it’s raining or if the windshield is wet in order to activate the automatic wipers. I’d love to set wipers & high beams to manual at any time no matter if Autopilot is engaged. I’d also love if Tesla gave us standard old dumb cruise control.

Manual Precondition battery
One of Tesla’s unique advantages is that the battery automatically preconditions when navigating to a Supercharger. This helps the battery charge faster. However, since Tesla just came out with the CCS adapter now we can charge at non-Tesla fast charging stations and it would be nice to have the option to manually precondition the battery for charging at a non-Tesla charger.
