Sending all our love to The Songwriters Hall Of Fame for honoring our music, as well as the incredible music of our contemporaries, including Chicago. It was an honor being inducted the same year as Robert Lamm and James Pankow in 2017.

‘Chicago VI’ was part of the soundtrack of our bonding as musicians, songwriters and friends. Questlove always teases us about our use of the black keys (Eb instead of E, C# instead of C🎹) but blame Chicago because we learned the beauty of the black & white keys together from them. Especially when listening to the hauntingly beautiful “Something In This City Changes People” from #ChicagoVI for the first time.

Chicago’s consistently tremendous body of work not only exudes instrumental genius, but lyrical excellence, harmonic richness, inspiring melodies, and emotional backbone.

One of the best parts of being a musician is no matter what kind of music we play, we’re part of a community who speak the divine language of music. We are constantly appreciating and learning from our peers. So today and everyday we celebrate both their work, and their incredible influence on ours. 🎹🎷🎺🎸🥁
