Visonik VB212PKG; thermal overload problem with attempted bridge wiring configuration

This is a amp/sub set from Visonik. Model VB212PKG. The amp is a dual channel 500w RMS, 1000w peak unit. There are 2 subs and they are in a divided and sealed enclosure.

In this video the power is 10awg with a 25A inline fuse and an OEM 20A fuse at the amp. The speaker wiring is 12awg from the amp with 10awg jumper making the subs in parallel. This wiring is an improvement (larger) than what was originally used and probably not optimum, it was what I had on hand.

Note: I did measure the speaker impedance and confirmed they are 4 ohm speakers and as wired in this video (parallel) they are 2 ohm.

I thought this could be wired in this way, but since it is experiencing thermal shutdown, it appears not. Also, even when working (before thermal overload) it doesn't sound good; it seems weak and not what I was anticipating with a doubling of the Amp power and cutting the load in half.
