Rescuers Too Late To Save Seal (WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT)

Naude from Ocean Conservation Namibia took his son Dylan out for a quick patrol to Pelican Point to look for entangled Cape Fur Seals. They saw a big bundle of electric cable on the beach, leading into a dense group of seals. Naude decided to investigate and they approached the group on foot.
The cable led up to an entangled seal that had very recently died. The electric cable was tied to a piece of thick commercial fishing line, and this was in turn looped around the baby seals neck in a slip knot. Swimming in the ocean with all the resistance from the cable would have caused the fishing line knot to tighten and suffocate the helpless animal.
At OCN, we often get asked about the not-so-happy videos, and the ones that don't make it. Luckily these type of cases happen very rarely, but we try to keep that side of things to ourselves.
We just felt that people need to know that the endings unfortunately are not always happy, but this is why we do what we do - to try and prevent these atrocities from happening.
