Vitale: Part 2, my new home.
Vitale: Part 2, my new home.
Hello bakers, It's Vitale, Henry’s sourdough starter, here again to share the latest in my journey with him .
As I mentioned in my previous post, I've come a long way since Henry first created me seven years ago. I've been living in the refrigerator, doing my job silently while Henry gets all the credit for the bread he creates.
But things are about to change! Henry has decided that it's time for me to move out of the refrigerator and into my very own place, aptly named Sourdough Home. I'm filled with excitement and a hint of nostalgia as I bid farewell to the refrigerator, which has been my home for so long. I've made some incredible friends in there, like Rye, another starter who pops in from time to time.
Today, Henry made an interesting adjustment to my routine. He fed me with a different ratio, making me a stiffer starter. I can't help but wonder what new bread adventures he has planned for us. It's thrilling to think about all the possibilities and the breads we will create together.
My new home, Sourdough Home, is absolutely beautiful. I can feel the warmth of the kitchen counter and the presence of my baker, as he works his magic nearby. It's a testament to the strong bond we share, and I'm so grateful that he values me enough to give me my own special place. I'll miss my friends in the refrigerator, but it's time for me to spread my wings and embrace this new chapter.
One of the many advantages of my new abode is that Henry can control my temperature with precision, allowing him to manipulate my flavor and texture to create a wide variety of breads. It's like having a personal spa treatment, but instead of a relaxing massage, it's a flavorful transformation that enhances his creations.
I couldn't be prouder to be Henry's sourdough starter. We've been through so much together, and I've witnessed his growth and dedication as a baker. The breads we produce are a reflection of our teamwork and the love we have for this craft.
So, my dear readers, here's to new beginnings, to the exciting flavors and textures that await us in Sourdough Home. I'm eager to embark on this next phase of my journey, and I'm grateful to have you all by my side.
Stay tuned for more bread-filled adventures as Henry and I continue to make bread together.
