Immortal Technique: Chet Haze Is Not a N**** & Neither Are We
http://www.vladtv.com - In this special clip rapper Immortal Technique breaks us off with some "sad-truths" about Black culture as he comments on Chet Haze's infamous usage of the n-word. "That sounds good from the sanctity of your hundred-million dollar home - that plays out a lot different in the street," he says, directing his statement to Tom Hank's son. "You can say anything you want - just be prepared to defend it, man."
Many personalities in the hip-hop world (including Chester Hanks former friend Scrilla King) have frowned upon Chet's belief that he has a right to use the word because he claims to only use it as a term of endearment. Immortal Technique wishes the aspiring rap artist would just educate himself more on Black culture and let his actions do the talking. "Learn something about us, because you can't just be along for the ride when you think it's cool to use that word...If you really want to be that person then commit to it by helping the Black community by doing this and then maybe you'll come to the realization that you're not a n**** and that we're not either."
Check out the clip to learn about the dehumanization of Black men and women at breeding plantations "that we've never seen in the movies," and why "you can't love hip-hop without loving the people that created it" in this eye-opening exclusive with Immortal Technique.
