You know why? Cuz the moment a superpower is introduced, the story makes a promise. It tells the audience what this character can do, how dangerous they are, and what the rules of the world are. And if that promise is too big, the entire story starts to crack.

Then you have Captain Marvel.

Show impossible levels of power too early or too late and you get Quicksilver. So how do you do it right?
