New Watch Release: Ming 37.02 "Minimalist " (Chrono Pursuit) #Mingwatches #newwatch
If you haven’t already noticed over the past few years, an under-the-radar watch manufacturer called “Ming” has been producing some incredibly simple, yet elegant, timepieces that push traditional watchmaking boundaries.
The latest watch from Ming is this 37.02 “Minimalist”, which measures in at 38mm in diameter and under 11mm thick. Compared to its successors, the most obvious change for the new 37.02 is the new “Polar White” lume, which was developed in-house by Ming and fills the instantly-recognizable Ming sapphire dial (which includes a base dial and a second layered dial made completely out of sapphire crystal) to create a halo effect.
This latest release is their first watch to be developed and built at their new Swiss facility, which brings Ming closer to the high horology world that it has been inching towards with each new release. One of my favorite unique design innovations from Ming is the customized Sellita SW-300 movement, which includes modifications by Schwartz-Etienne including anthracite skeletonized bridges and contrasted rhodium decorations. As you can see, the movement is unlike anything else you see from other manufacturers, especially in this price range.
I’ve actually had my eye on a few Ming pieces before, including this awesome moonphase with a rifled dial that is just unlike anything else on the market. With this latest piece bringing together Ming’s unique design elements, custom movement and new technological advances with the polar white lume, all built in their new Swiss facility, I think it’s just about time for me to pick a Ming up now!
