Dr. Guymon will explain the meaning of the astigmatism. Some people mistake the word for stigmatism. There are two more common types of astigmatism, corneal astigmatism and lenticular astigmatism. 33% of the people in the world have astigmatism, and if you are wearing glasses or contacts, you have a 70% chance that you have astigmatism right now. Most people have regular astigmatism, but there are people that have irregular astigmatism. This is usually caused from an eye condition, like keratoconus. Certain levels of astigmatism can be treated with glasses, contacts, and surgery. Most people experience blur and light distortion. It's recommended if you have any symptoms presented in the video, to go see your eye doctor for an eye exam.
