Turkey Protests: Riot Police Clash With Activists
Riot police have forced protesters to flee parts of Istanbul's Taksim Square, filling the air with tear gas and firing water cannon at crowds who refused to leave.
Although protests had been largely peaceful, some demonstrators had thrown rocks, petrol bombs and fireworks towards police lines.
Ambulances were seen moving in and out of the square, as protesters set a number of small fires.
